Motorcyclist in London hospital following crash on A2990 Old Thanet Way, Herne Bay

A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in a London hospital following a crash on an A-road. Emergency services were called to A2990 Old Thanet Way, in Herne Bay, just before 10pm yesterday.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were called after the biker - man in his 30s - struck a traffic island. Officers say he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Pictures from the scene show the road taped off by police near its junction with Flamingo Drive.
