Motorists fined more than £100 for driving at 61mph on motorway

Michael Jacques, of Primrose Hill, Wallingford, was caught exceeding a variable speed limit on the M27 in Hampshire by an automatic camera device on November 27, 2023. He was travelling 61mph in the variable 50mph zone.  Jacques appeared in Southampton Magistrates' Court on June 12 of this year.

This was a year-and-a-half on from the offence, and he entered a guilty plea.

He was fined GBP100 and handed three penalty points on his licence.

He was also ordered to pay costs of GBP130 and a surcharge of GBP40.
