Police appeal after man, 21, killed in M11 crash

Police have issued an appeal after a 21-year-old man was killed in crash with a lorry near Stansted Airport. A lorry driver has been arrested following Monday's (June 16) incident on the M11. Officers were called to the motorway between Harlow and Bishop's Stortford just after 2.30pm following reports of a smash involving a lorry and two cars.

One of the drivers died at the scene, while a second man is fighting for his life in hospital a day after the crash, reports MyLondon[1]. Essex Police said the driver of the HGV, aged 57, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and causing injury by careless driving. He has since been released on police bail.

From 2.30pm yesterday (Monday) the M11 was shut between junctions seven and eight while police carried out a full investigation. Enquiries continue into how the crash took place. Essex Police has issued an appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident.
