Surrey Hogs Back death after female pedestrian hit by lorry as police appeal for witnesses

A female pedestrian was killed in a collision in Guildford yesterday (June 17) after she was struck by a lorry. Surrey Police[1] are now appealing for witnesses to the incident. A spokesperson for the force has said: "Officers were called to the A31 Hogs Back shortly before 1.55pm on Tuesday, June 17 following a call reporting a collision at the location between the driver of a truck and a pedestrian." "Sadly the pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, died at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed. Our enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made."

The A31 eastbound carriageway was closed between Puttenham and Farnham[2] Road for several hours to allow police to carry out initial enquiries, but it has since reopened. Officers are now looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of this incident. If you have any information that might assist the police investigation, you should contact the force by calling 101 or via Webchat[3]; or by using the police online reporting tool[4].
