Villagers want action after ‘fourth crash this year’

Villagers are so exasperated with the constant car crashes on their high street that they're coming together to petition for action. Locals are demanding safety improvements to Warmley's High Street in South Gloucestershire, citing 'numerous prangs' as a 'weekly occurrence', with speed often playing a significant role. The road was once again cordoned off last weekend following a collision between a van and a local resident's vehicle.

Photos depict police at the scene and substantial damage caused. The accident occurred at 6.30pm on Saturday, June 7, but according to local resident Paul Swindlehurst, it's merely the latest in a string of incidents. Villagers' main gripe is that Warmley's High Street doubles as the primary A420 road between East Bristol and Chippenham, resulting in heavy goods vehicles and constant through-traffic at all hours, reports Bristol Live[1].

"This was yet another high-speed crash in Warmley on the High Street - this is the fourth car written off this year, along with numerous prangs that seem to be a weekly occurrence," Mr Swindlehurst stated.

"The residents on the High Street continue to make complaints to South Gloucestershire Council[2].

The current and previous MP have been informed about this situation."

He further revealed that residents are now preparing to present the council with a petition.
