Woman dies after Cotswolds crash involving recovery truck

A woman in her 70's has died following a collision between a Range Rover and recovery truck. The woman who was driving the Range Rover was given emergency medical treatment at the scene, but sadly died at the scene. The driver of the recovery truck, a man in his 20s from Oxon, has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The incident happened around 3pm on Thursday, June 26, in Burford, on the A361 between Burford and Lechlade. Police are are appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward. A Thames Valley police spokesman said: "Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A361 between Burford and Lechlade.

At around 3.22pm on Thursday (26/6) there was a collision involving a Range Rover and a Vauxhall recovery truck. "The driver of the Range Rover, a woman in her 70s from Oxon, was given emergency medical treatment, but sadly died at the scene." Witnesses to the incident and anyone with dash cam footage is being asked to get in touch with Thames Valley police.

Investigating officer PC Harry Welch of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit said: "An investigation into this incident in which a woman has sadly died and a man remains seriously injured is underway. Our thoughts are with the families of those involved at this difficult time. "We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage that may assist our enquiries to please contact us on 101 or via our online reporting form, quoting reference 43250318623."
