A2 near Kingston, Canterbury, blocked as woman taken to hospital after crash

A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash blocked a busy A-road this morning. Emergency services were called to the collision involving a car and a lorry on the A2 near Kingston, Canterbury, at about 7.30am this morning.

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the road was blocked for more than an hour this morning. A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "Crews assessed and treated one female patient at the scene before taking her to William Harvey Hospital with minor injuries."

Two fire engines also attended and crews used hydraulic equipment to extract one person, who was passed into the care of paramedics. Following vehicle recovery, the road was clear by around 9.50am.

Police say that no serious injuries were reported.
