A27 in Shoreham remains closed after crash between lorries

The A27 westbound between the A293 at Hangleton and the A270 at Holmbush, near Shoreham, was closed this morning, July 28, following a crash between two HGVs.[1] Emergency services attended the scene and a diversion was put in place for road users. National Highways reported that the road remains closed while recovery work and resurfacing is under way due to a large diesel spillage.

A lane may be reopened this evening. Sussex Police said the road is likely to remain closed for some time and there were no injuries or arrests. "Emergency services are attending the scene of a collision on the A27 westbound, just after the Southwick Tunnel," a spokeswoman said.
