A422 Alcester Road: search for witnesses to fatal crash

A crash between a lorry and a blue Ford Transit van on Alcester Road, Kington, on Wednesday (July 30), resulted in the death of the van driver, a 31-year-old man. A 32-year-old man, who was behind the wheel of a Renault van, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Officers believe the two vans were travelling behind each other on the A422 and are now appealing to find witnesses to the incident.

Detective Sergeant Rose Hughes, of West Mercia Police's serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who lost his life yesterday. "Enquiries to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision are ongoing, and we are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the involved vehicles in the moments before. The A422 was closed for eight hours before reopening at around 2am this morning (July 31).
