Driver hurt after lorry overturns blocking Warwickshire island
A driver was left hurt after his lorry overturned at a Warwickshire[1] roundabout.
999 calls were made to report the incident on the A46 Bishopton roundabout near Stratford earlier this morning (July 24). Warwickshire Police[2] officers stepped in to manage traffic on the island with the A3400 and Birmingham Road. Medics from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) treated the driver of the lorry.
Fortunately he was not seriously injured. A WMAS spokesperson said that he was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene.
"We were called to reports of an RTC on the A46 near Bishopton at 9.18am," the WMAS spokesperson said. "An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a lorry had ended up on its side.
"A man was treated by ambulance staff for minor injuries and discharged at the scene."
Police remained at the scene for some time as the overturned lorry had to be recovered as it was blocking part of the island.
