Live: M5 traffic stopped after lorry bursts into flames
All traffic on the M5 has been stopped as a lorry fire has broken out. All three lanes of the motorway northbound between junction 15 and 14, have been closed due to the fire. Emergency services are currently at the scene and fire fighters are working to extinguish the blaze.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "All three lanes of the M5 Northbound between Junction 14 and 15 are currently closed due to a lorry fire. "Firefighters are currently on the scene working to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible". National Highways has said: "Traffic has been STOPPED on the #M5 northbound in #Gloucestershire between J15 (#M4) and J14 (#Falfield) due to a lorry fire.
"Emergency services are in attendance. " Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, also reports: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to lorry fire on M5 Northbound from J15 M4 J20 (Almondsbury Interchange) to J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield).Held around 12:25."
