M5 driver ends up in court for speeding in two counties

Liam Stone of Primrose Crescent, Worcester, was caught breaking the 50mph speed limit on the M5 northbound between junctions 6 (Worcester) and 4a (Catshill Interchange). The 37-year-old appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 25 for exceeding a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the motorway on October 23 last year. He was also caught speeding by an automatic camera device going over 30mph on the A518 Trench Lock in Shropshire on September 19 last year.

For the motorway offence he was fined GBP57 and three penalty points imposed. His guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing. For the Shropshire offence, he was also fined GBP57 with his licence endorsed with three penalty points.

Stone was also ordered to pay costs of GBP130 and a surcharge of GBP46.
