M6: Man in 40s seriously injured in Charnock Richard crash

The northbound carriageway of the M6 was closed for several hours on Friday (July 18) between J27 for Standish and J28 for Leyland, just after Charnock Richard services. Officers responded to reports of a crash between a van and a stationary skip wagon at around 10.45am. Nine including one-year-old baby injured in horror M6 crash[2]

The van driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital.

A police spokesperson said: "We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the motorway was closed.
