Nottinghamshire Police confirms man, 40, arrested after pick-up truck collided with a tree at Welcome Break Services on the A1, Fernwood

A man has been arrested after a pick-up truck collided with a tree just before midnight last night. Following the closure of the A1 northbound exit at Fernwood this morning[1], Nottinghamshire Police have released further information. Officers attended the Welcome Break Services on the A1 at Fernwood after a pick-up truck collided with a tree around 11.30pm on Tuesday night (July 15).

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and theft of a motor vehicle.

He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed for some time, but reopened at 9.20am this morning.
