Officers attended the scene and were forced to put road closures in place as investigations into what had happened were carried out.
The force is now appealing for information from members of the public who may have witnessed the crash.
A police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a reported road traffic collision in Stockbridge Village[2] this afternoon, Saturday 26 July.
"At around 2.45pm we received a report that a number of cars were involved in a collision at the junction of Woolfall Heath Avenue and Seth Powell Way."
Police asked anyone who saw the incident or captured it on dashcam footage or CCTV to contact them as soon as possible.

They asked people to avoid the area for a period after the crash, while a road closure was in place.
