Two cash machines stolen from M5 Strensham services
Police are investigating the theft of the machines from the service station, near junction 8 of the M5, at around 4am on Thursday (July 24). Detective Constable Simon Dudman said: "This was a well-planned criminal operation that unfortunately resulted in two cash machines being stolen from the services." Six to eight suspects, along with a dark-coloured van, a pickup truck, and a car, were involved in the theft.
The suspects are believed to have smashed windows and dragged the machines away using cables hooked to the pickup before making their escape by heading onto a service road in the wrong direction. Officers believed lorry drivers may have been in the area at the time of the theft, and may have witnessed it or captured video footage on their dashcams. DC Dudman said: "The smashing of windows and pulling the machines with cables, which sparked across the ground as they moved, will no doubt have alerted witnesses to the incident, even at 4am.
"We would like to hear from anyone who saw the raid or may have caught it on their mobile phone or dashcam to come forward and submit that footage to us as part of our investigation."
Witnesses to the theft can contact the Worcester CID office on 01905 331234, quoting incident number 00024_I_24072025.
