Van and lorry crash leaves major Cambridgeshire road closed for four hours

A major Peterborough[1] road remains closed after four hours after a crash[2]. Emergency services remain at the scene of a crash on the Nene Parkway[3] this afternoon (Thursday, July 31). Cambridgeshire[4] Police said that a van and lorry were involved in the crash.

In a previous statement, a police spokesperson said: "We were called at about 8.45am today with reports of a collision between a van and a lorry on the Nene Parkway. Emergency services are at the scene and the road is closed." The northbound carriageway remains closed, while the southbound carriageway reopened at 10.30am.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says traffic is slow along the road. Inrix said shortly after 12.30pm: "A1260 Nene Parkway Northbound closed, slow traffic due to accident from A1139 Fletton Parkway J3 (Hampton Roundabout) to J32 A605 Oundle Road." Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
