A12 crash: Man in his 20s died after car and lorry crash
Just after 2.45am on Friday, officers were called to the scene of a collision on the northbound carriageway of the A12, between junction 19 for Boreham and junction 20 for Hatfield Peverel. Essex Police was supported by Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, who confirmed the crash was between a car and a lorry and that both the northbound and southbound carriageways were closed for some time. Officers have now confirmed the driver of the car, a man in his 20s, died at the scene.

"Sadly the driver of the car, a man in his 20s, died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time."
The A12 was closed for about ten hours while emergency services worked at the scene. "Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating and needs anyone with information, or relevant footage to come forward," the spokesperson said. "They specifically want to hear from anyone who saw a Black Kia Picanto being driven on the Northbound A12 immediately prior to the collision and has not already made contact with police.
