A41 Acocks Green crash live as police close road after ‘serious collision’

A motorcyclist was tragically killed after a collision with a van in Birmingham this morning. The vehicles crashed on the A41 Warwick Road, in Acocks Green, just before 7am, today, Friday, August 1.

Part of the A41 was closed with emergency services at the scene.

Sadly, police later confirmed that a 29-year-old man had died at the scene. A police spokesman told BirminghamLive: "We're currently at the scene of a serious collision involving two vehicles on the A41 Warwick Road in Acocks Green. "We were called to the scene just before 7am.

"Part of the A41 remains closed, near the junction with the A4040, and we would urge motorists to avoid the area. "Witnesses or anyone with footage has been asked to get in touch via 101 or Live Chat, quoting log 605." Traffic data monitor Inrix says: "A41 Warwick Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident from B4146 Westley Road to A4040 Stockfield Road."
