A68 closed in Northumberland due to serious crash between HGV, quad bike and car
Emergency services remain on the scene of the incident near Bingfield

The A68 is closed in both directions in Northumberland after a collision between an HGV, a car and a quad bike. The road was closed between the South Farm turn off at Colwell, and the Hexham and Chollerford junction for the the A6079/B6342 at around 10.30am this morning.
Emergency services remain at the scene, including Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service[1], with motorists urged to avoid the area if possible.
A Northumbria Police[2] spokesperson said: "Shortly before 10.30am today (Wednesday), we received a report of a three-vehicle collision involving a car, quad bike and a heavy goods vehicle on the A68 northbound, near to Bingfield in Northumberland[3].
"Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene, and a section of the road is closed in both directions between the South Farm and Cocklaw junctions. Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route in the meantime."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.28am on Wednesday 27 August to reports of a road traffic incident on the A68 near Bingfield, Hexham.
Article continues below"We dispatched two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, a specialist paramedic, a duty officer, a team from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), and requested support from our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) who attended by air.
"Two patients were transported by road to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) for further treatment."
