Arrests after crash on A66 near Mainsgill Farm Shop
Emergency services were called to the westbound side of the A-road, at the junction with the B6274, after a Ford Transit van crashed with a Peugeot 607. Witnesses reported seeing two men in white t-shirts fleeing the scene across nearby fields, at about 4pm on Monday, July 28. 
Officers found the two men on Hartforth Lane within ten minutes. Both were arrested on suspicion of driving without a licence, no insurance, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, and for being wanted. One of the men was also found with a Stanley knife and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
