Beautiful floral tributes for 18-year-old Lauren Beavan after fatal crash
Beautiful floral tributes have been laid at the scene of a collision which claimed the life of an 18-year-old. Lauren Beavan died following the crash, which happened on Greatham Back Lane, on Thursday, August 7. Loved ones have left flowers and heartfelt messages to the young woman at the scene of the incident, tying them to a pole.
A card on one of the bunches of flowers reads: "My heart is broken and the tears won't stop." A GoFundMe page[1] has been set up which describes Lauren as 'a beautiful young girl' with 'a heart of gold'. It reads: "She was beautiful inside and out, a truly special soul who touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her."

Camron Holmes, 26, of Mill Lane[2], Billingham, appeared before Teesside Magistrates' Court[3] on Friday to face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving. Holmes is also charged with causing death by driving without due care/consideration while unfit through drugs and using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance.
The case was adjourned and he was remanded in custody to appear before Teesside Crown Court[4] on September 5. Emergency services were called to Greatham Back Lane at around 4.18am on Thursday, August 7, following a crash involving a single vehicle, a silver Renault Clio. Sadly, Lauren died at the scene.
The road, along with the connecting A689 dual carriageway at Greatham was closed on Thursday morning as Cleveland Police[5] provided a warning to motorists. The route was shut in both directions between Seal Sands roundabout/Truro Drive and Dalton Back Lane for several hours.

A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on the A689, near Billingham, Hartlepool, at 4.14am on Thursday, 7 August. We dispatched three ambulance crews, one clinical team leader, and one specialist paramedic to the incident."[6]
