Heartbroken family pay tribute to ‘beautiful’ mother-of-one, 33, killed in crash when her Citroen collided with lorry

The 'heartbroken' family of a mother who died in a crash with a lorry has paid tribute to their loved one.

Chloe Lightfoot, 33, was on her way back to her home in Spennymoor, County Durham, when she was involved in the tragic accident on the A66.

The mother-of-one's Citroen Berlingo van collided with an HGV near the Bowes area just after 8am on Tuesday, August 26.

Emergency services rushed to the A-road, but despite paramedics' best efforts, Ms Lightfoot died at the scene.

Her family are currently being supported by specialist police officers, and they have paid tribute following her death.

In a statement, her family said she was a 'beautiful young woman' who 'will never be forgotten'.

They said: 'Chloe was a beautiful young woman, who was a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, girlfriend, and friend to many.

'To never see her smile again is breaking our hearts.

We are going to miss her every day.

'Our memories have never been so important to us as we try to come to terms with what has happened.

'We love her so much.

She will never be forgotten.'
