There were significant delays on the M6 due to an early morning crash. Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash on the M6 at around 5am on Saturday morning (16 August). It is not yet clear whether there were any injuries as a result of the crash but Blog Preston understands that a HGV has crashed into the central reservation between junction 27 for Wigan and junction 28 for Leyland.
There were two lanes closed on the northbound carriageway and one on the southbound as a result of the damage to the central reservation. National Highways: North West officers were on the scene and repair work is taking place. There were delays of up to an hour as a result of the congestion.
It was expected that normal traffic conditions would resume at around 12.15pm. Subscribe: Keep in touch directly with the latest headlines from Blog Preston, join our WhatsApp channel[11] and subscribe for our twice-a-week email newsletter[12]. Both free and direct to your phone and inbox.
