Live M6 traffic updates as motorway closed near Stoke-on-Trent after lorry overturns in crash

The M6 motorway is closed in North Staffordshire tonight (Friday, August 8) after a crash saw a lorry overturn. The northbound carriageway is shut to traffic[1] between Junction 14 (Stafford[2]) and Junction 15 (Stoke-on-Trent). The closure was first reported at around 10.30pm, with National Highways saying it is likely to remain in place for some time.

All emergency services are currently at the scene and traffic cameras show delays building and a diversion route is in place via the A34 and the A500. "All emergency services including Staffordshire Police are in attendance. "National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management. "The vehicle has struck and damaged the concrete central reservation barrier and caused a significant spillage of diesel across the carriageway.

As a result, it's expected that the road will be closed for some time." Join our Traffic and Travel WhatsApp group HERE[4] This is a live incident.
