Live M6 updates as crash near Stoke-on-Trent causes ‘severe delays’
A crash on the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent is causing 'severe delays'. The collision occurred on the northbound carriageway shortly after 3pm. It is close to the stretch of motorway where a HGV overturned earlier today causing long delays while recovery work was carried out.
National Highways say motorists in the area face delays of around two hours. Traffic monitoring system Inrix states: "Severe delays and two lanes closed due to accident on M6 Northbound before J16 A500 (Stoke-On-Trent/Crewe). Congestion to J15 (Stoke on Trent).
Traffic was already congested here due to the earlier incident after J16." According to National Highways the crash on the M6 is causing congestion on the A500 northbound between the A34 and the M6 junction - with delays of up to 15 minutes. Scroll down for live updates...
