M6 reopens after five-hour closure for lorry fire
The M6 has partially reopened southbound after a five-hour closure when a fire started in a lorry and spread across the carriageway.
The motorway was shut between junction four, for the M6 Toll and junction three, at Bedworth, shortly before 09:00 BST on Thursday, National Highways said.
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Coleshill, Bedworth, Nuneaton and Bickenhill were sent to the scene.
The road was closed for much of the morning but one lane was reopened shortly after 15:30 BST while recovery and clear-up work continues, National Highways said.
