M6 traffic LIVE: Overturned caravan sparks motorway closure and MILES of delays

Drivers have been plunged into chaos as an overturned caravan on the M6 has led to "severe delays". Emergency services rushed to the scene on the northbound carriageway between J33 for Hampston and J34 for Lancaster. Several miles of traffic were been reported on the approach to the crash site leading to 30 minute delays, according to National Highways North West.

Lanes have reopened but drivers still face delays

National Highways North West has confirmed all lanes have reopened on the M6.

The agency said: "All lanes have now reopened on the #M6 northbound between J33 (#Hampson) and J34 (#Lancaster) due to the overturned caravan." Despite this, drivers are still facing delays on the motorway due to the earlier disruption.

Thousands of people are expected to travel to Blackpool this weekend for the popular annual Air Show. The M6 is therefore expected to get busier into the afternoon as people travel onthe motorway for the first day of the show.

Traffic stopped due to crash

National Highways North West revelaed vehicles on a stretch of the M6 had to temporarily be stopped due to an earlier collision. The agency said: "The #M6 northbound between J41 (#Catterlen) and J42 (#Carleton), traffic has been temporarily STOPPED due to a collision. "There's currently approx.
