A trucker was taken to hospital after a flipped lorry shut a stretch of the M6 through North Staffordshire for more than 12 hours. Emergency services had been scrambled to the northbound carriageway between Junction 14 and 15 where a HGV was found on its side.
And the incident left the motorway closed off for around 14 hours - with lane closures then remaining in place. It then had to be shut off again to allow crews to repair the carriageway.
Today and Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to Friday night's crash.
Meanwhile West Midlands Ambulance Service say the trucker was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.[1][2][3]
Police, paramedics and firefighters had been called to the scene at around 10pm on Friday night (August 8). Into Saturday and a recovery operation was rolled out to get the truck off the carriageway.

Lane closures then remained in place until National Highways shut that stretch again from around 9.15pm on Saturday night until 6.45am the following morning (August 10) to allow for resurfacing work to be carried out. A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to the M6, junctions 14 to 15 northbound, following reports of an overturned lorry.
"Officers attended along with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The driver, a man, was assessed by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
"We closed the road at junction 14 while emergency services attended the scene. Officers informed Highways due to debris and oil on the road. Inquiries are continuing."
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving a HGV on the M6 between junctions 14 and 15 in Whitgreave.
One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a Critical Care Car from Midlands Air Ambulance and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of the lorry. He was assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.
He was conveyed to Royal Stoke Hospital."
