Man who died after A1 crash named by police amid appeal

A man who died after a crash on the A1 near Cambridgeshire[1] has been named by police. Emergency services were called to a crash on the A1 northbound in Wyboston[2] on Saturday, July 26 just before 8am. The crash involved two vehicles, which were a white lorry and blue Ford car, and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, who has been named as Anthony McKeown, 45, of Low Fell, Gateshead, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sergeant Matthew O'Neill from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire[3] and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: "Our thoughts remain with the loved ones of Mr McKeown who sadly lost his life. "We are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision - or who has dashcam footage from the scene or surrounding area - to get in touch as this would help with our enquiries."

Anyone with information or dashcam footage should report it online to Bedfordshire Police or call them on 101 and quote incident 114 of July 26 or Operation Acton.
