Northfield biker dies in hospital after Bank Holiday crash

A young biker who crashed in Birmingham has died in hospital.

The man, aged in his 20s, was injured following a single-vehicle collision, on Norrington Road, in Northfield[1], at 4pm, on Bank Holiday Monday.

He lost his fight for life on Tuesday night (August 26).

West Midlands Police[5] said it was a "tragic incident where a young man has lost his life."

The force is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

In a statement, police said: "A man has died following a single-vehicle collision in Northfield[6].

"We were called to Norrington Road, on Monday (25 Aug), at 4pm to reports that a motorbike had crashed.

"The man, in his 20s, died last night (26 Aug) in hospital."

Sergeant Rich Evans from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a tragic incident, where a young man has lost his life and our thoughts remain with his family and everyone who knew him.

"We have specially trained officers supporting his family and are continuing to investigate exactly what happened.

"I want to again ask anyone with any dashcam or doorbell footage, or who witnessed the incident to please come forward and speak to us."
