A man has been charged after a van crashed into a house in Gloucester.

The van collided with the house in Tuffley on Saturday evening (August 9).

A man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been charged.

A Gloucestershire police spokeswoman said: "We were called to Tuffley Lane in Gloucester at around 8.05pm on Saturday (9 August) with a report that a van had collided with a house.

"The driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital as a precaution.

"Mike Turner, aged 53 of Randwick Road in Tuffley, was later charged with driving a motor vehicle when above the legal alcohol limit and released on bail to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 26."
