A woman has died after being hit by multiple vehicles on the A1 in the Scottish Borders.
The 50-year-old was struck while she was walking about a mile north of the Grantshouse junction with the A6112 at about 23:50 on Friday.
Emergency services attended, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for investigations and reopened at about 08:30 on Friday.
Sgt Dave Waddell urged anyone who witnessed the crash or who was in the area at the time, especially if they have dash cam footage, to contact the force's non-emergency line.
He added: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this difficult time."
