A500 live updates as ‘major crash’ sees car ‘facing wrong way’
Motorists are being warned of delays on the A500[1] in Stoke-on-Trent following a crash. Eye-witnesses say a lorry and car have collided on the D-road near the Porthill Bank and Middleport turn-offs this evening (September 9). There are not thought to be any serious injuries but traffic is backing up both directions.
One StokeonTrentLive reader said: "There's a major accident on the A500 at the Tunstall turning. Lorry and car have collided and the car is facing the wrong way. Queues are at least two turnings long, with people out of their cars."
Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "A500 D Road in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at A5271 Porthill Road (Porthill Bank)."
StokeonTrentLive is attempting to contact Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service for statements.
