A66 - Between Bridgefoot and Broughton Cross
The collision, which happened between Bridgefoot and Broughton Cross, was reported at 9.57am today [September 9], and involved a Volkswagen Golf, a Scania HGV and a Volkswagen Caddy panel van. The driver and sole occupant of the Golf was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Caddy was taken to West Cumberland Hospital for further assessment, his injuries are described as minor
The driver of the HGV was uninjured. The road is now open following the incident.
Overturned HGV on Parkhouse Road roundabout in Carlisle
The incident was reported to Cumbria Police at 2:11pm. The HGV is reported to be blocking the eastbound carriageway of the A685.
The driver has suffered an arm injury. The road will be blocked for sometime whilst recovery takes place, drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
A66 - Collision reported at Bassenthwaite dual carriageway
Reports have been made of a collision on the A66 westbound at Bassenthwaite Dual Carriageway. The incident was reported at 5:31pm to Cumbria Road Watch.
Drivers should expect delays on approach to the dual carriageway.
