Live: A30 delays after lorry crash in Devon

A stretch of the A30 has reopened after it was blocked due to a lorry crash and subsequent spillage this morning (Wednesday, September 17). The eastbound carriageway of the road was blocked, with traffic building between Kellacott and Sourton Down. Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported the crash at 10.12am.

The road had reopened by 2.30pm. Inrix reports: "All lanes open, accident cleared and spillage cleared on The A30 eastbound from the Broadwoodwidger turn off (Stowford Cross, Launceston) to the A386 (Okehampton). "Previous congestion to the main road through Bridestowe as traffic seeks an alternative.

The sensors show that traffic can now pass the scene after a full block earlier." It had reported earlier that the crash involved a lorry and a trailer. The road was closed due debris on the carriageway.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We received reports of a collision between two vehicles on the eastbound carriageway A30 at Sourton, near Okehampton, at around 9.55am." Police and paramedics were at the scene. The extent of any injuries is unclear.
