M40 crash tragedy as woman dies after collision with HGV
A woman sadly died following a collision with a HGV on the M40 in Warwickshire[1]. Police had closed off the northbound carriageway of the motorway, between junctions 15 and 16, early yesterday evening (September 4). West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed that an ambulance and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.
But a WMAS spokesperson confirmed to CoventryLive that nothing could be done to save the woman. She was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. The closure remained in place for more than an hour.
The WMAS spokesperson explained: "We were called at 4.36pm on Wednesday to a road traffic collision involving a HGV and a pedestrian on the M40 between junctions 15 and 16 in Rowington. "One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a woman.
Sadly, it was clear nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene."
