M5 chaos at Bristol after lorry breaks down

There were long delays on the M5 at Bristol this evening after a lorry broke down. It happened on the southbound side of the motorway at around 6.15pm, between junctions 19 and 20. Traffic pictures showed long delays on the M5 as a result.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to recovery work and broken down lorry on M5 Southbound from J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead) to J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way (Clevedon)."

The M5 cleared by 7.30pm.
