M60 live as police respond to ‘traffic incident’

There have been long queues on the M60[1] all day after a lorry collided with a bridge near the Trafford centre. Greater Manchester Police[2] said that officers were in attendance at an incident in Urmston at around 11am this morning (September 1). The force said police were dealing with a 'traffic incident' close to the junction of Lostock Road and the M60, at junction nine and urged drivers to avoid the area if possible.

A GMP Trafford spokesperson said: "Police are currently dealing with a traffic incident near to the junction of Lostock Road and the M60 motorway, please avoid the area and expect delays." It has since been confirmed that a HGV lorry collided with the Lostock Circle bridge on the M60, near the Trafford Centre this morning. No one has been injured as a result of the collision.
