Major road in Cardiff shut for hours after incident

A a major road was shut in Cardiff[1] after a road traffic incident. The A4232 Northbound near Culverhouse Cross was closed for around four hours on Monday, September 1 into the early hours of Tuesday morning. South Wales Police attended the incident which saw a lorry jack-knifed, blocking traffic from entering the A-road.

South Wales Police were called to the scene around 10.05pm.

The road was closed North Bound from Culverhouse Cross to the M4[2] causing significant traffic build-up.

The road was re-opened at 2am on Tuesday, September 2 morning and no injuries have been reported.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police[3] was called at 10:05pm last night (Monday September 1) to a jack-knifed lorry on the A4232 Northbound just past Culverhouse Cross.

"No injuries were reported and the road re-opened at 2am."
