Man airlifted with life-changing injuries after A361 multi-vehicle crash

A man has suffered life-changing injuries in a crash[1] involving a lorry and three other vehicles near Frome[2] yesterday (Wednesday, September 3). At 7.35am, the crash on the A361 between Leighton and Nunney Catch, near Frome, was reported to Avon and Somerset Police[3]. One person, a man in his 20s, was airlifted to hospital with injuries considered to be life-changing.

His next of kin have been contacted. Two other people were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. A fourth person was treated at the scene.

The road was closed whilst investigations were carried out, reopening at around 6.20pm. The police force are appealing for witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses and those with dashcam footage following a serious collision on the A361, near Frome, which was reported to us at 7.35am on Wednesday, September 3.

"We attended the scene of the collision, which involved a lorry and three other vehicles, between Leighton and Nunney Catch, near Frome, and the road was closed while investigations were carried out. "One person, a man in his late 20s, has been airlifted to hospital with injuries which are considered to be life-changing. The next of kin have been contacted.

"Two other people have been taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, while another was treated at the scene. The road reopened at around 6.20pm.
