Man fined for driving at 48mph on motorway
Christopher Wale was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall travelling westbound side on the M27 when his speed was recorded by an automatic camera device. The 58-year-old was driving at 48mph between junction 10 and nine near Fareham[1] on May 8, 2024. At the time of the incident a 40mph speed restriction was in force on the motorway, the court heard.
READ MORE: Gang smuggled GBP25m worth of cocaine into city on boat[2] Wale, of Breach Avenue, Emsworth, was found guilty of exceeding a variable speed limit on Monday, August 18, at Southampton Magistrates' Court. He avoided a driving ban but was ordered to pay a fine of GBP102 and was given three points on his licence.
Wale must also pay prosecution costs of GBP130 and a GBP41 surcharge, a total of GBP273 to pay.
