Man fined for driving at 67mph on busy motorway
Charles McLinden was behind the wheel of a Ford on the M27 westbound when he was clocked by an automatic camera device. The 29-year-old was driving at 67mph between junction 10 and nine near Fareham[1] on May 8, 2024. At the time of the incident, a 40mph speed restriction was in force on the motorway the court heard.
READ MORE: Woman fined for driving at 57mph on motorway[2] McLinden, of Westminster Drive, Bognor Regis, pleaded guilty to a charge of exceeding a variable speed limit on Monday, July 28 at Aldershot Justice Centre. He was banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay a fine of GBP738.
McLinden was also handed six points on his licence and must pay prosecution costs of GBP130 and a GBP295 surcharge, a total of GBP1,163 to pay.
This was ordered to be paid in full by August 25.
