Motorcyclist taken to hospital after M48 Severn Bridge crash

The incident happened on the westbound carriageway, on the exit slip at Junction 2 for the A466 Wye Valley Link Road at Chepstow on Thursday, September 25. A Gwent Police spokesperson said: "We received a report of road traffic collision near junction 2 on the M48 at around 3.30pm on Thursday 25 September.

"Officers attended and the collision involved a van and motorbike. "The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment." The bridge was closed in both directions while emergency services responded, causing delays of up to 20 minutes between junction 1 at Aust and junction 2 at Chepstow.

It reopened fully at 5.30pm.
