Police issue update on M6 closure after lorry overturns and crashes into barrier

Police have issued a new update on the M6 closure put in place after a lorry overturned and crashed with the central reservation.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway between junction 34 near Lancaster[1] and junction 35 at 2.26am on Tuesday (September 2) due to a road traffic collision and fuel spill. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a HGV had overturned and crashed with the barrier. Advertisement

No other vehicle was involved, police said.

The driver of the HGV suffered arm and rib injuries and was taken to hospital[2].
