Road reopens after lorry overturns on A14
Motorists have endured long delays after a large lorry overturned near a roundabout connecting two major roads.
Emergency services were called to the A14 eastbound carriageway at Copdock, in Suffolk, at about 10:40 BST on Tuesday after a lorry crashed on to its side.
The lorry toppled near a roundabout which leads to the A12 and junction 55 of the A14 but no one was seriously hurt, said Suffolk Police at the time.
National Highways confirmed the road was reopened at about 17:00, six hours after the crash, and said: "Thank you for your patience."
After the incident motorists heading towards Copdock from the A12 and drivers heading in the direction of the roundabout from Ipswich experienced long delays.
At one point National Highways said normal traffic conditions would not likely resume until late into the evening, with drivers being urged to use alternative routes.
The road was eventually reopened after "a complex recovery and clear-up operation".
