Vicky Pattison was involved in a car accident on the eve of the Strictly Come Dancing[1] launch show. And while, fortunately she wasn't hurt after the car she was travelling was shunted off the road, she said the whole experience had been 'a bit intense.'

Along with the rest of the Strictly 2025 line-up[2], Vicky[3] will make her debut in the BBC[4] ballroom, as millions tune into watch the new series launch on Saturday evening, where fans will get to see who she and the other celebs have been paired with, as well as watching them take to the dancefloor for the first time in a group number. Ever since the former I'm A Celebrity winner was announced as a contestant on Strictly, bookies have had her firmly in with a shout at taking home the Glitterball trophy, with her remaining in the top five off the odds since the cat was let out of the bag last month.

Vicky is regarded as one of the front runners for the Strictly crown this year, along with current favourite Lewis Cope[5], model Ellie Goldstein, YouTuber George Clarke and ex Love Island champion Dani Dyer.

The launch show was actually filmed earlier this month, with Vicky now well into the swing of rehearsals with her still to be revealed partner,[6] but things took a turn on Friday, when she was involved in the accident on a busy stretch of the M25.

Taking to her Instagram story with her hand on her head, Vicky began her post: 'Never a dull moment, before explaining: 'A lorry just swerved into my car on the M25 and pushed us off the road. No one is hurt and the traffic officers are here but crikey...it was a bit intense. Wear your seatbelts kids.'

Speaking to ChronicleLive earlier this week, Vicky revealed that she got so nervous during the launch show that she was 'close to a panic attack,[7]' saying: '"Honestly, it was the closest I've got to having a panic attack in my life!

The nerves hit me so bad and just took over. I am a complete non-dancer and, while I really want to enjoy the full Strictly experience, I'm not going to lie, it's been hard."
