Tributes as grandad and his pet dog killed in North Yorkshire horror crash
The family of a man who died in a collision near a North Yorkshire village last week, have shared heartfelt tributes for the " beloved father, grandad and friend to many".[1]
Stephen Paul, 69, was driving a red Fiat 500 towards Boroughbridge when he was involved in a collision [2]between a white HGV milk tanker and a green John Deere tractor. The tragic crash occurred on the A168 near Dishforth Airfield[3] last Friday morning (September 19). Sadly, the grandfather from Malton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a touching tribute, Stephen's grieving family said: "Stephen was a beloved Father, Grandad and friend to many. We are all beyond devastated by his sudden death."
The family also thanked the emergency services who helped Stephen at the scene: "We would like to thank the Police, Air Ambulance, Paramedics for their efforts when attending the scene, along with all the witnesses and people who were there with him.
"A special thank you is needed for Bishopton Equine Veterinary Services in Ripon, who made every effort and went significantly above and beyond to try and save his dog, Cookie, who unfortunately also lost her life in the crash." Advertisement

North Yorkshire Police are continuing to investigate the collision and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage taken in the area who has not spoken with officers to come forward as a matter of urgency.
