Two officers left in hospital after police van crashed on A66 suffered minor injuries

Two police officers taken to hospital after a marked vehicle crashed with another van suffered only minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to the A66 Westbound at the Cargo Fleet Lane Roundabout in Middlesbrough just after 12.15pm on Monday (September 22).

The road was closed after the crash between a police van and a van with a trailer.

Pictures showed the marked police van badly smashed up with its front end ruined, and the front bumper hanging off the other van. Advertisement Advertisement

Cleveland Police said both officers sustained minor injuries.

A spokesperson said: "Officers had minor injuries and enquiries into the collision are ongoing.

"We are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to get in touch either via 101 or the website quoting reference number 181889."
