Van driver fled multi-vehicle crash by running across motorway

Police are appealing for witnesses after a van driver crashed into the back of another car and ran across a motorway.

Officers said at around 5.15pm last Thursday a Citroen van was seen being driven erratically at speed and weaving between lanes on the M65 Eastbound near junction 3, at Feniscowles, before crashing into the back of an Audi.

The impact caused the Audi to crash into another car, a Vauxhall in front, causing injuries to the drivers of both vehicles. Advertisement Advertisement

The driver of the Citroen van, who was in the middle lane, fled the scene by running across the westbound carriageway and into fields. Enquiries are ongoing to try and identify them.
